Curtain Call, the sequel to 2012′s Nintendo 3DS music game Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, is getting ready to launch in Japan later this week, and as of today we also now know that Square Enix will be localizing the title for North America later in 2014. It’ll retail for $39.99.
Classic Final Fantasy tunes, characters and cutscenes will once again collide with an adorable chibi art style and intuitive touch screen rhythm mechanics. Specifically for Curtain Call, Square Enix is adding more than 200 new songs and over 60 new playable characters, representing series titles such as Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.
New playable characters confirmed so far include Barret from Final Fantasy VII, Zack from Crisis Core, Ramza from Final Fantasy Tactics, Yuna from Final Fantasy X-2, and Benjamin from Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest.
Other key features will include:
•Versus Battle Mode – Players can now compete head-to-head with friends and other users.
•Quest Medley Mode – Songs from the vast FINAL FANTASY music catalogue make up unique quests; players can choose their own routes through short, medium and long quests. Players can also share these quests with friends.
•Collecta Crystarium – Clearing songs and winning battles allow players to obtain Collecta Cards that boost their character stats.
