Atlus Bringing Political RPG Citizens Of Earth To Wii U And 3DS ...

DEAL OF THE DAY at TigerDirect

By Kyle Hilliard

Publisher Atlus has made a name for itself bringing Japanese games like Persona to North America, but Citizens of Earth puts players in the role of the Vice President of The United States.

Developer Eden Industries ran a Kickstarter for the game last year, and despite not meeting its funding goal, Atlus saw something it liked and is bringing the game to the 3DS and Wii U eShops. In the game's Kickstarter pitch, Eden Industries writes, “Citizens of Earth combines the modern setting and humorous tone of Earthbound with the recruitment mechanics of games like Pokémon and Suikoden.” Instead of building a party of fantasy-character heroes, as it occurs in most RPGs, the Vice President builds a party made up of regular people with normal jobs like, teachers, bakers, and used car salesmen.

You can check out the trailer for the strange game below, which is coming to 3DS and Wii U September of this year.
