GBA Joins the Wii U VC Line Up in April

Starting April 3rd, GBA games will be available on the Wii U eShop in North America and Europe. The launch line up includes addictive classics like Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, Metroid Fusion, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, Golden Sun, and the list goes on. Unfortunately, these games will be single-player only, even games that originally had multiplayer capability via the old GBA link cable will not have it on the VC release. Though it does make one wonder if games that didn’t use the link cable will retain their mulitplayer mode, such as Advance Wars.

The Wii U still seems like an odd choice for the GBA VC, since GBC and GB classics have already been released on the 3DS eShop with much success. However, Nintendo has done their part to improve the experience using Wii U’s unique features. All GBA VC games will feature GamePad streaming for off-TV play, custom button mapping for your controller of choice and restore points.
