Nintendo 3DS Fest: Fire Emblem: Awakening Last Minute Delay

Bad news for anyone investing in Fire Emblem: Awakening, the game has officially been delayed in NA due to a massive shipping error. Details are scarce but it seems as though no one will have this game on time! Numerous Best Buys, have reported that they wont have the game until February 6. In fact, my own personal reserve informed me that the game may not be in stock until the 12. Different Gamestops are also reporting this issue saying that they may not have the game in stock until Friday at the earliest.

Numerous media outlets, including us at HardReset, have reached out to Nintendo asking for some kind of explanation for the unexpected delay. As of yet Nintendo hasn’t commented on the situation, but it’s a little mind blowing if you ask me. While the 3DS has plenty of good games, Fire Emblem has been racking up the positive reviews faster than any other title has on the system. The acclaim FE:A has gathered is so impressive that it’s the last game anyone would expect to have a blunder like this.

Honestly a game being delayed a few days isn’t that big a deal, but to the gaming community it is a massive inconvenience. Thankfully, FE:A did launch on the Nintendo eShop for digital download today, however at around 8,600 blocks it takes up a little over 1gb memory, and if you’re working with the 2gb card the 3DS launched with, it’s another inconvenience. So, even with hype at an all time high, unless you plan on grabbing this game digitally, you’re going to have to keep waiting patiently.

Personally, when it comes to my games, I’m not a patient man. This is lucky for you, the reader, because you can expect a review of Fire Emblem: Awakening in the days to come, as I have already canceled my pre-order and taken the 8600 block hit for the digital download. So, look forward to Hard Reset’s report on Fire Emblem: Awakening, hopefully it can hold you over until the game hits a store near you.
