Square Enix will remake Dragon Quest VII for the Nintendo 3DS in a ...

Dragon Quest VII

You’ve probably heard by now that a Dragon Quest VII: Warriors of Eden remake will make its way to the Nintendo 3DS next year in Japan. You also probably know by now that the game is being evaluated for a western release.

The press release in Japan noted that this will be a Nintendo 3DS exclusive software which means that there will probably be no port of the game to other platforms for another year or so. It also noted that the title, which was released on the Playstation One shipped 4.1 million copies in Japan.

While the game is very long and will make players rack up to (or more than) 100 hours of playing time, the Nintendo 3DS version of Dragon Quest VII: Warriors of Eden will converted so that it’ll be comfortable to play on a handheld, with updated graphics and a more realistic design. But the story of course, will not be altered, whatsoever.

Dragon Quest VII: Warriors of Eden will take advantage of the StreetPass functionality of the Nintendo 3DS and of course, the dual screens. The musical score will be played by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. Now that is something you can experience free of charge when you buy the game.

Dragon Quest VII: Warriors of Eden will be available in Japan in 2013. We will be watching this title very closely.
