Capcom has a way of making their fans angry. Some may remember the issue they had with the Nintendo 3DS this year, when their handheld game was only good for one play through, and now they are catching flack for something that isn’t exactly what people originally thought.
Fans discovered on their copies of Resident Evil 6 that there was some on-disc downloadable content, which fired people up because they claimed that there will be only paid DLC for the game. This struck people the wrong way, thinking the content was on the disc they purchased but had to pay to access it.
Capcom took to their blog and explained the situation. They did confirm that it does contain pre-existing content – the “No Hope” difficulty mode and a new co-op partner – but the content is “incomplete” because it will not work without an actual download, according to GameSpot.
They have been confirmed as free DLC and will be activated through an update, but no time was given for the update. Now, in regards to the paid DLC, they state that there is no additional content on the disc and will be purchased online only on the Xbox 360, then coming to the PS3. Capcom has gotten pretty sloppy lately and it is amazing that they manage to anger fans consistently but they keep coming back to them.
