RollerCoaster Tycoon 3D Gets a Launch Date - Explosion

When I think of RollerCoaster Tycoon I think of 1999 and the idea of a game where simply building awesome stuff for fun seemed like a rather new concept. Sure, there were map design tools for some of the more popular first person shooter games, and there were the Sim City games, but RollerCoaster Tycoon filled a void that was very real at the time with its own brand of bringing a set of tools to gamers as the main selling point. On top of that, the integrating of park management really pushed it over the top. What was funny was that it worked and spawned an entire series as well as a lot of knock-off games for years to come.

Alas, as all has been quiet on the RollerCoaster Tycoon front for years now, which means we’ve been missing out on gems like these ads. To think, there is an entire generation of gamers who don’t know about that ad and the game that came along with it. Never fear, though, as for the first time since 2004, there will be a new installment in the RollerCoaster Tycoon series, and it will be coming to the palm of your hand as it roars out for the Nintendo 3DS. RollerCoaster Tycoon 3D, which was announced way back in November of last year has finally found a release date in October 16th for the Nintendo 3DS, it was announced today.

Gamers can look forward to the classic gameplay, as well as new features exclusive to the 3DS such as the new “Coaster Story” mode, which combines tutorials and a narrative, first person coaster rides (of course in 3D), customized logos, the ability to take screen shots, tilt to explore and much more. The exciting part is that a whole new generation of gamers will get to experience this park simulator, as well as fans of the originals.
