The latest issue of Japanese gaming mag Famitsu has outed the existence of a brand new Ace Attorney title, Ace Attorney 5, revealing that Phoenix Wright is set to make his return to the court room in the new game. Apollo Justice and Miles Edgeworth have been the main protagonists of the last couple of games, so fans of the series will surely be pleased to see Phoenix back and screaming ‘Objection’ every five minutes once again.
Apparently the game’s characters will be rendered in full 3D for the first time in the franchise, and as it’s headed to the Nintendo 3DS it’ll obviously also feature the other kind of 3D. In regards to gameplay, one of Ace Attorney 5′s brand new features is the ability to select different facial expressions during testimonies, which should shake things up a bit. The game is set for a release this year – in Japan at least – and will be showcased at the Tokyo Game Show later this month, so expect more details on it then.
Capcom announced last month that they plan to bring the original Phoenix Wright trilogy to iOS later this year, so if you missed them the first time around then it represents the perfect opportunity to get up-to-speed on Phoenix’s story before Ace Attorney 5 lands.
