Update: It’s Totally Coming to the U.S. and Europe

A Capcom representative moments ago confirmed to Kotaku that Ace Attorney 5 will indeed be coming to the United States and Europe.

“Capcom is planning to release Gyakuten Saiban 5 (Ace Attorney 5) in the West. We’ll have more news soon.”

Original Story

The latest issue of Famitsu (via Andriasang) has detailed the return of everyone’s favorite shouting lawyer, Pheonix Wright, in his latest game from Capcom, Ace Attorney 5. In addition to taking place a year after the events of the fourth Ace Attorney, the game will, as with past iterations, make its home on the Nintendo 3DS and will see a partnership forged between Wright and his new, yet-to-be-revealed partner, “a mysterious girl who wears yellow.”

The game hasn’t been confirmed for any particular country officially, but one would expect a release in at least Japan and the United States. That said, the journalists over at Pocket Gamer (via Kotaku) claim that Capcom has already confirmed an “English release” to them.

That seems likely enough, Capcom likes money just as much as anyone else, don’t they? And Ace Attorney has just as many fans in North America as any other region, doesn’t it?

However, regardless of what region(s) it will eventually launch in, Ace Attorney 5 will be playable in the form of a 15-minute demo for Tokyo Game Show attendees later this month. We’ll be there as per usual and will dish out our impressions then.
