Wii U 'has much more memory' than current consoles : Latest Game ...

The GPU also surprises programmers.

Wii U has not posed any problems for programmers and has been considered a good surprise, highlighting technical aspects of the console, as was revealed in an article published in the latest issue of the official Nintendo magazine for the UK.

So, Steve Lycett, of Sega, has said that “there are always surprises and unexpected challenges when developing a new console”, but Wii has been a good surprise. ” The first surprise was the ability of the GPU,” said Lycett, who has worked on the development of Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed.

The key is that the device has not had to “reprogram all game effects, they simply worked”. He also praised the console’s memory. “Wii U looks as good as any other high definition platform. Wii U has a lot more memory, so you can take advantage of a lower compression elements and textures.”
