Gamers in Japan have gotten their hands on copies of Atlus’ Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers title for the Nintendo 3DS, and they were in for a treat. Included in the game was a trailer for the upcoming Shin Megami Tensei IV title. For those of us not familiar with the title, Persona is related to this series, and we’re hoping that this means the next iteration in the stylish dungeon-crawling RPG title will touchdown on current-gen consoles.

According to a report from Siliconera, the trailer also notes that Shin Megami Tensei IV will release in 2013 in Japan. There’s been no comment from Atlus on whether we’ll see a release outside of Japan yet or what platforms will be seeing the game. Or even if it is a game.
Earlier this month, Team Persona’s Katsura Hashino noted that Persona 5 is in full swing, with the staff entirely focused on the entry. Sketches have also been submitted by master artist Shigenori Soejima. Hashino has also noted that he is working on a collaboration project that will “be a nice surprise” for everyone. Maybe Shin Megami Tensei IV is related to that?
