This Week on the Nintendo eShop (Mar. 20, 2014) | Product Reviews

The 3DS gets some love this week with a few cool new games. Pokémon Battle Trozei is a new puzzle game on the 3DS that essentially lets you match-three and catch’em all. Yumi’s Odd Odyssey is the first entry in a beloved import platformer series to make it to North America. Pure Chess, which is also on Wii U, is a really good chess game. You’ve also got a demo of the next Atlus game out next week along with some sweet sales on Mutant Mudds and more.

Pokémon Battle Trozei ($7.99)

You got a little Puzzle Dragons in my Pokémon! The sequel to the DS puzzle game changes up the way the game is played a bit by making it less like Yoshi’s Cookie and more like Puzzle Dragons. Players chain together matching pieces and attack wild Pokémon in the hopes of defeating and/or catching them, and then eventually catching ‘em all. Battle Trozei contains more than 700 of the little rascals, so get ready to sink a lot of time into it if you want to get everything.

Yumi’s Odd Odyssey ($29.99)

Finally, the beloved Umihara Kawase series makes it over to North America. If you’ve never heard of it, it’s a platforming series that started as a cult classic on the Super Famicom. This 3DS version is crafted by the original designer and features the heroine Yumi using her fishing line to swing around and fight evil sea creatures. It has online leaderboards so you can compete with folks for the fastest completion time.

Pure Chess ($7.99)

This is basically just chess, but the buzz is that it’s a really good video game version of chess. Heck, you can even “Play By Mail,” which just appears to be a fancy term
