Nintendo began streaming an 89-second trailer for the New Super Mario Bros. 2 Nintendo 3DS video game on Thursday.
The new game will have players focusing on collecting gold coins. It will feature the return of Raccoon Mario and will allow players to get the Gold Flower item that lets players turn almost anything into coins. The game will also feature a local wireless multiplayer mode.
Nintendo will release the game on July 28 in Japan and on August 19 in North America — the same day that Nintendo will release the new Nintendo 3DS XL handheld console in both areas. Nintendo announced last month that it will release downloadable content for New Super Mario Bros. 2 after it ships.
